In the subculture of Seventh-day Adventism, most of the churches have a weekly Sabbath-afternoon potluck when every family brings a dish and fellowships together. There are a couple of entrees that are unique to Adventists.
One of those common dishes is the Kellogg’s Loaf. The main ingredients are cereal, cottage cheese, and eggs. Non-Adventists reading this might be thinking, “What?! Cereal should only be eaten with milk, not with eggs!” You’d be surprised how great this tastes. Best of all, it’s vegetarian!
I was looking for the Adventist variation of this recipe and I found a great one at TAGnet. Unfortunately, the page does not exist anymore. So, the following is the lost recipe with my adjustments. One named Amy Higner submitted the original recipe. Amy, if you’re reading this, I just want to say, “Thanks!”

Last year my husband took me on a cruise to Alaska for our anniversary. It was so much fun and there was so much to do! I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for vacation ideas … provided that they have the cash to burn. Carnival Cruise Lines are truly “the fun ships.”
Cruise Food Choices
Being a cruise passenger newbie, I was in awe of the amount of food! It was then that I learned that Cruises serve free food (sorry, no drinks) 24 hours a day! Every type of dining atmosphere and cuisine is at the passenger’s disposal. You could opt for American, Asian, Mexican, Italian, and even Bree-like gourmet! You could dine in fast food, corner street stand, club, bar, pizzeria, even formal restaurant-style (complete with real maître d’hôtel) atmosphere! Sometimes, this formal venue was so elegant that a tux was required entry for the gentlemen. All this is free service and food 24 hours a day!

Recently, on a Sabbath afternoon, my sister and I went to a friend’s house to have lunch. When we arrived, our friend asked me if I knew how to cook fried rice and I said, “Yes.” In the back of my mind I was thinking, “In fact, it was the only thing I knew how to cook when I was a kid. So, call me an expert!”
I gave her a couple of pointers on how to cook it. While she was talking to my sister, I wasn’t paying attention to her cooking or to anything at all for that matter. I mean, I just woke up. It didn’t even phase me when she cracked open the eggs and put them in the skillet.
Then, my sister asked her, “What are you doing?”
“I’m making fried rice.”
“Allan, You didn’t tell her about the eggs?!”
It was then that I finally realize what just occurred. While the rice was in the pan, she put in the eggs. I felt (and I still feel) quite bad about the whole incident. Because of my mistake for oversight, I will reveal how to cook fried rice correctly.
